Support Social Emotional Learning in iLembe District Schools

Launching our Backabuddy Campaign

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
— Nelson Mandela

As a certified Emotional Intelligence facilitator and mental fitness coach, I believe in educating hearts to empower teachers and students to be their best selves. Through Social Emotional Learning (SEL), we plant seeds for a more caring, equitable future and for students to be academically prepared as well as socially and emotionally equipped.

For the past two years, I have partnered with the Linc Foundation, a faith-based NGO in the iLembe District of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This year, 13 teachers participated in my SEL program, using the Teaching with the Heart in Mind model by Dr. Lorea Martinez.

To deepen their impact, I aim to provide each student in their classrooms with a Feelings Journal. A Feelings Journal is a safe space for children to explore their emotions through writing, drawing, and reflecting. It helps them develop emotional literacy, self-awareness, creativity, and essential communication skills—key pillars of SEL.

For just R100, you can provide one child with:

  • A Feelings Journal

  • A set of pencil crayons

  • A protective book cover

Your contribution will support teachers in bringing SEL to life in their classrooms and give children a meaningful tool to understand and express their emotions.

Join us in honoring Mandela’s dream of changing the world through education. Let’s make SEL accessible to every child in iLembe.
